Subject:- Distraction theftDate and Time:- 21.2.12 at about 1 p.mPlace:- Centro Comercial Punta Marina, Punta Prima, Torrevieja.Incident:- Victim was approached by a woman dressed in Romanian type clothes who appeared to be deaf and dumb. She had a folder and asked the victim to sign a petition in aid of deaf and dumb people looking for work. The victim agreed and in order to do so put his hand bag down amongst the number of leaflets he was being shown in order to sign the petition. On later looking in his bag, he found that 1300 euros which had been there was now missing. A denuncia was made to the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja.Advice:- Only carry enough cash with you for what you actually need and beware of methods of distractionthat may be used.
